Joint Ph.D. Course Offerings in Economics

For the academic year 2010-2011, the Departments of Economics at Concordia University, HEC-Montréal, McGill University and Université de Montréal are reserving courses in five areas of specialization for Ph.D. students who have completed the first stage of their doctoral studies. Entry requirements for these courses will vary from Department to Department, but in general students will have completed required course in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics, and will have successfully written the comprehensive exams required by their Department after the first year of study. The courses are intended to help students prepare for field comprehensives (if applicable) or help bridge the transition to thesis research.

This year, the areas covered by this initiative include Econometrics, Industrial Organization, Labour Economics, Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. At least, two courses are offered in each area.

Most courses will be given in English. The location is determined by the instructor's Department affiliation. Students can register for these courses in their home Department.
